A Sun, sun, sunny day!

What a beautiful day we have had!
We spent most of the day doing yard work... as you can see by Puddin. She is so much like her mommy it's crazy! She said here she would help but she needed to check her website first! HA!(She is using a calculator as her computer! Such an imagination!)

The Monkey's were a little more help. Isn't there a law against child labor?? I guess since we aren't paying them it doesn't count!

Finally- here's a little teaser for some Memphis mommies! I have a set of sisters and a set of cousins with some very special Puddin Pop Kids headed their way! I'll show the full pictures after they get their PPK.

Favorite Pics of the week

There are so many things I could blog about tonight- and probable will eventually- but I'm tired. When I say it's been a LONG day today- I seriously mean it!

But, this is going to sound crazy- even though it's been a long day, the kids have been great...really great! And, the big ones haven't napped all week! CRAZY!!

Puddin is on spring break this week and it's been nice...really nice.

It's just been a long day because I'm a grown up, with grown up stuff going on.

Anyway- here are some of my favorite pictures from last week that would have each received their own blog post. And since I know the Nana's and the Papa's, and the aunts and uncles, and cousins are all wanting to see more pics of the Fabulous Five I decided to devote this post to them... with some of their favorite faces!

Puddin and Hubby... having a situation. Apparently, she didn't think it was funny! :)

MC Monkey Do jamming to "Cows on the Farm". His own remix of Old McDonald.

LOVE it!

Baby Bud and Big Bro Monkey See just cruising around the strip.
Are they not ADORABLE???
This picture just makes my heart flutter!!
(BTW-Bud is our baby with a capital B... in no way, shape or form can he ride his scooter yet. But, at 1 year old Monkey See could ride the very same scooter.
So I propped Bud up there to see if he could "run with the big dogs".
Sadly, he could not.:(
baby Bud got a boo-boo!

This is the after shot of BeatupbabyBud with his busted head that he got when his Fantastic momma propped him up on a scooter he couldn't ride so she could take a great picture of her sweet baby and urge him to try something new and then turned away to then put the camera down and he fell on his head and got a boo-boo. :( Motherhood is not for wimps. **sigh**

Also pictured are Momma and Monkey Do. We were consoling Baby Bud and entertaining him with the camera.

What's for dinner??
Baby Daisy cooking up something yummy!
She can not walk yet either, but that doesn't stop her!
There you have it! Some of my favorite faces.
Happy Wednesday!

Also another "bloggy" friend recently sent me a pic of her new little bundle of sweetness with her Puddin Pop Kid... PPK Questions and Answers

Here are a few of the newest faces in the PPk collection and a few Q&A's to go along with them...
1. Q- Can the dolls be accessorized??? A- maybe... I'm working on adding glasses... we'll see in a couple of weeks.

2. Q- When do you have time to sew?? A- I usually sew at naptime or at night after everyone is alseep. I guess it pays to be a night owl but my limited time to sew is also why I request a couple of weeks to complete a doll.

3. Q-Do you carry dolls "in stock"? A- Yes, usually I do. I try to keep 5 or 6 in stock so when someone calls needing a last minute baby gift they can swing by and pick one up. However, I have had a hard time keeping up with that since Christmas. But, after the Easter batch, and the birthday party sewing for my kiddos I plan to replenish my stock!

4. Q-Do you have a pattern? A- No, I do not have a pattern. Each doll is 100% unique. I like it that way! I know the "shape" each doll needs to take and I know the measurements I like for them to have. Other than that I just eyeball as I cut... no drawing them out or anything. So, no matter how many blue eyed, blonde dolls on pink chenille are made, no 2 will ever be the same. Of course that means if you request a doll to look just like the one in a picture you saw.... they might resemble but they won't look exactly alike.

5. Q- How did you start making the Puddin Pop Kids? A- about 3 years ago I was wanting to make Puddin a doll that had a bible verse on it... sort of a rag doll type. I had some left over minky fabric from her baby balnket I made before she was born so I decided to go with what I had. It was a bit muppet looking, but cute. I made a couple more, just trying out different things as far as shape of the head and body. I went on a retreat with my bible study girls and showed them the PPK to see what they thought. At the time, one of those friends was in the planning of our church's women's lunchen and asked if I would donate one for a door prize during the luncheon. I happily donated 2. And from there, the Puddin Pop Kids took off.
6. Q- Why are they called Puddin Pop Kids? A- When my daughter was born she was just so scrumptious I called her Puddin Pop. I told my husband if I ever started my own business I would call it Puddin Pop Designs, since she has been my inspiration for 90% of what I sew. So, the "dolls" took off and needed a name and my husband and I decided that since our Puddin was the reason we had these babies they would be called Puddin Pop Kids.

The Fabulous Five

Thank you all for the sweet emails and prayers about my Nanny. We are doing ok. Saying goodbye is never easy. She was a wonderful lady and I was blessed to have her in my life.

Wow, what a year this has been. I have a lot to share but not much time tonight as I am cranking out some Puddin Pops to be shipped this week. So, I will have to save some stuff for later in the week when I have a little more time. (HA!) But for now...

Last week the babies turned one... WOW... it seems sort of surreal that my babies are ONE year olds! Where did the year go?!? Walk with me down memory lane for a bit...

This is the Fabulous Five, as they have been affectionately dubbed, in March 2009.

The babies were 3 weeks old, the boys were 1 year and 8 months old and Puddin was 3 years and 5 months old. Whew! (this is also the time in which hubby and I became serious coffee drinkers!)

September 2009.... Everyone is growing and changing!! The babies are 6 months old and oooze personality! The boys seem to big here... so much older than they actually were. And Puddin, well, she loves being the big sister and seems pretty proud of her brood!

The babies are 6 months old, the boys are 2 years and 2 months old, and Puddin is 3 years and 11 months old.

Moving ahead to today... March 20th, 2010. What an amazing year it has been! Lots of thing shave changed, but one thing has not. Sweet, precious Daisy STILL does not sleep through the night consistently! Yes, we love coffee here!! This picture was about the 16th one of out 20 that I shot and getting everyone to look at the camera and look adorable at the same time is, well, a challenge!
Everyone is bigger... more mature.. ha! 4 are still in diapers, although 2 are slowly coming around to the idea that using the potty really is the best way to go. Puddin still likes being the boss the big sister and she is working on learning to read.

The Monkeys are still hysterical and make me laugh every day... if they are not hugging or kissing me, they are cracking me up. Monkey Do's favorite thing to say these days in "Heeeeeyyyyyy, wait a minuuuuuuute!" And Monkey See said his favorite thing about today was "pwayin all day wit Puddin, Monkey Do, Bud and Daisy". (he used their real names, of course- but it was such a precious thing when he said it!)

And the babies... well, they are the babies! They are sweet as sugar and while they still are babies, hubby and I agree, things are getting a bit easier... just a bit though. They are wanting to keep up with their siblings, and for the most part they do hold their own. Daisy is cruising around furniture, laughing, singing, saying ma-ma, da-da, and bwu-duh. Bud still prefers to crawl over any other means of travel, unless he's on my hip. He has no desire what so ever to walk. None. He knows how to get his way and can pitch a fit like none I have ever seen before. He says da-da and ma-ma. He smiles a lot and can make me laugh with his silliness.

Puddin is 4 years and 5 months, the boys are 2 years and 8 months, and the babies are 1 year old!

And Hubby and I, we get a little more sleep these days... a little. We have more messes to clean up... a lot more. We are working really hard to get in a date night once a month, at least. And we still really like coffee!!

In Loving Memory

Today my Nanny, Helen Ruth Poole, went home to be with the Lord.

Nanny and Daisy March 2009

She went peacefully with her daughters by her side.
In my head, I am happy that they were there and
that she is whole again and no longer hurting.
But my heart is so very sad too.
I will miss her more than I can say.
I love you Nanny.

Happy Birthday Sweet Babies!!

Wow!! These little darlins are full fledged one year olds!

And my feelings are much of what they were this same time last year.

It seems that now, I still feel as unprepared for their birthday as I did last year! How can such a special day sneak up on a girl!?

I had big plans for their birthday last year. I had it all worked out. Same thing this year. With sort of the same result... my plans were, and are changed.

The babies came a week early last year, which threw me for a loop. I mean, I knew they were coming... I just wanted it to be when I had planned for them. I was so nervous when I heard my doctor say, "you need to go get checked in at the hospital now".....not yet.... I need more time... is all I could think.

Now, one year later, these little sweeties are sick on their first birthday and all I can think is... no!! not now!! I am so grateful to have 5 healthy, happy children. I just wish we could celebrate their amazing birthday the way I had planned... smash cake, loved ones, balloons and giggles. I'm sure we will work in some giggles and possibly a smash cake, but I think today holds a lot of snot and maybe another visit to the pediatrician as well! (Don't I sound like a big whiny baby?!?) UGH!
Especially since their birth turned out perfect... it was beautiful...just click here... and see for yourself.
So, I have no doubt today will be a special day as well so let me get over myself and share some pics of my sweeties... then and now... snot and all!

Hard week

This past week has been hard.
My Daddy and my Nanny were both discharged on Friday and Saturday so they are at home. Resting I hope.
My Dad was instructed to "take it easy"...we'll see.
My Nanny was instructed to try and do more... not sure about that one either.
She will have a home health nurse coming in to try and help her do some things.

Then, just when I though things were going to get back to normal, we getting ready to go to dance class (Puddin has missed 2 weeks in a row due to illness and visiting my Nanny). Anyway, a normal Friday was not in our future. Instead we made an emergency dash to the pediatricians office for Monkey See's arm. I feared it was broken from the way he was holding it. I definitely knew something was wrong. Turns out he had "nurse maids elbow" which is a partial dislocation. ***sigh*** Apparently he and Puddin were scuffling over a musical jewelry box and she yanked his arm to get it away. oh- and now Puddin has missed dance 3 weeks in a row! I'm so grateful his arm wasn't broken! Monkey See is as good as new now, but man, I'm ready for things to settle down a bit!
But now I have laryngitis and some gunk to go along with it!

*************************************************
On another note...
I have several PPK orders in the works but due to the craziness last week and the fact that I am now sick, I haven't been able to work much on them. I will let you know as soon as they are ready and hope to finish a couple of the small orders by Wednesday.

Happy Sunday!
