Chocolate Pudding and Sardines

Sounds pretty gross, right! Well, thankfully this is not really about the sardines part... Just a combined post and the title, well, fits.

Anyway Part 1- Chocolate Pudding
I'll let the pictures tell the story...

Disclaimer- we do not normally let our children eat "topless". However, for some unknown reason Monkey See was not wearing his shirt at the dinner table. I have no idea why!!

Monkey Do checking it out... still some left! yum!!

Puddin wants more!

What a fun meal!! Even though clean up was a bit messy we had a great time!

Now, on to SARDINES....

It looks like we may need to start using the 2nd bassinet...they are packed in pretty tight! Now, I know what you're thinking... "Well, if you removed the straight jackets there would be a bit more room!"

I know! But then we would have the "arm flailing" bit and that is just not conducive to good sleep. Our goal- GOOD SLEEP!!

Aren't they just precious!?!

Mother of invention...

There is a quote about invention and necessity... baby brain is in full force today so I can't quote it exactly, which is a bummer since it's supposed to be the title of this post!
Anyway, hopefully, you get the idea (I'm functioning on VLS today- very little sleep). And since we are on the topic of VLS- does anyone know when I can expect more than a 3 hour feeding?? What I mean is, and yes I know I should know this answer- I have 3 other children and have done this before but again... VLS...
Back to what I mean- when will my babies go for more than 3 hours in between feedings??? UGH! I so do not remember this part from when the boys were little! I guess God just removes that from your memory- much like childbirth- only the good and happy thoughts remain!

What a ramble! Back to the point of the post...

I am a mommy to boys, 3 to be exact. (I also have 2 girls but this post doesn't apply to them). Never did I really expect to be a mommy to boys and quite honestly, I was a bit afraid when I found they were boys. BUT, I have have embraced this mommy to many sons thing pretty quickly-I think- and I adore, ADORE having boys!! They are such joys! And man, there is never a dull moment when they are awake!!!

If someone ever says "boys and girls are so different"- BELIEVE THEM!!! Oh, the stories I could tell!! The scary part of that is my boys aren't even 2 years old yet! Imagine when they are teenagers!!

Well, since I am a mommy to many sons I must admit- I have been peed on more than a time or two! In fact, little Bud got me in the hospital at just a few hours old! I knew better! I knew that thing could get me at any moment and bless his sweet little heart- he took the first opportunity- his very 1st diaper change by mommy and daddy! ( A little embarrassing since we had and audience! My sweet friend Kandra just happened to be there for the show!)

Anyway- in effort to avoid any more "incidents" I went on a search for some PeePee Tee Pees. Now, I purchased a pack of these several years ago for a friend. This was also several children ago when we had money to burn, but that's not the point. Since purchasing them, I can no longer find them except on the web. When the Monkeys were little I nearly ordered some but decided to take my chances.

I can no longer afford to "take my chances" with so many little people running around that need me. Diaper duty is all business these days. The quicker I get the job done and move on to the next task, the better! So, I found some on the web again yesterday and I almost bought a pack but then decided to try my hand at making some... Below is the result! I think they turned out great and they are super functional too!!
Gotta love necessity... or is it invention????

BTW- just in case you are not a mom of many sons and aren't sure how these things work- let me explain... Place the tee pee on the wee wee and there will be no more pee pee!!

Out of the mouths of Babes...

Puddin- "Mommy, I have 1 sister and 3 brothers."

Mommy- "Yes, you do."

Puddin- "And Mommy, that is a hand full!"

I think she may have overheard a few comments from the dear strangers that pass us by and mumble, "what a handful!"

Just playing around...

While I am waiting to feed baby Bud this is what I have done! It doesn't really take long at all!! I've just been messing around with this for about 10 minutes and this is what I have so far.

Gotta go- times up!

Spring is in the air

Since it's spring and all, I decided it would be a good idea to "freshen up " my blog design. The kiddos and I just came in from the back yard and had lots of fun! Who knew a sandbox could provide soo much entertainment?? And the lilacs are blooming and they smell glorious! What a beautiful day!!! It's just perfect here in our neck of the woods!

That being said, I tried to create a little spring in my own space of the World Wide Web... this is what I came up with. Its not really what I would like- but it's the best I can do right now. I don't know how to make a "pretty" blog, like some of you have, or how to add my own unique touches to it. And honestly, I don't have alot of time to do it right now either.
So, for the time being, standard blogger pages/fonts/designs will just have to do.

If you sniff real hard you might even be able to smell the Lilacs!
Happy Spring!

And the baby making continues.......

Well, it's back to making babies for me...the stuffed kind!
(I had some of you going there, didn't I?)

I have a new order for a little girl on her 1st birthday!! I am so excited to get her started.
I finished one the other day for a very special lady named Brenda in N.C. She has an amazing story. Anyway, I was so excited to get her Puddin to her before she delivered her baby that I forgot to get a picture of it!!
I am hoping she will snap a picture of her new little bundle of joy with her Puddin and send it to me.

Well, time is limited and the hours are fleeting. I wish I could say goodbye so I could start the Puddin Pop but I have SEVERAL loads of laundry calling my name that need to be dealt with first!
However, I will post a picture of the sweetie when she's finished!

Have a blessed night!
Much love,
Melissa

I wanted to add a "now" picture of Puddin and the Monkeys, but, I am out of time. It's feeding time, yet again! Every 3 hours- like clock work! Even if none of my babies were sleeping much at 6 weeks... they all did have double chins! They puffy heart love their milk! yum!
I am so blessed!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Prayer

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
Matthew 21:22

Please pray for this sweet baby.

And this little guy too.

My heart aches for their mommas.

Easter Sunday

Let me first say that our Easter Sunday services were amazing! After a horrible weekend with the aftermath of the tornado that hit on Good Friday, the service is just what we needed... an offering of HOPE when it seems everything is falling away.
for more info on the tornado that hit see the DNJ at http://www.dnj.com/article/20090410/NEWS01/90410042
This is just one of many posts that you can find.
TRAGIC. the only word I have to describe what happened.
I was terrified as I huddled in the closet with all 5 of my children, no electricity and very little cell service to find out what was happening.
BLESSED is how I felt when it was over. I prayed...seriously prayed for God to spare us from what was headed our way. I am so thankful to HIM for answering my prayer.

We were able to have a wonderful Easter. We celebrated by attending church and then had a fun afternoon with family. This time, my family came to visit and celebrate at our house. What a gift! I didn't have to dress, pack for, load and feed everyone before making the hour and a half trip! The kids were all able to get a nap in too!
Here are some pics from our fun afternoon...

Baby pics

I will be posting baby pics soon... I just have to have some time to get them loaded in the computer!

A Part in the Clouds? and Baby Love!

Well, since my last post, just a few short days ago, I can add that a shutter blew off of our house during the storm and my van broke down in front of Osh Kosh the other night while a friend and I were trying to do some shopping for our kiddos. Thankfully, the van has been repaired and I was with one of my dearest friends so I was in good company and not with 5 small children when it happened!! The shutter still sits in the garage, but at least it didn't blow away!

All in all, things are going great! The babies are doing well. They are sooooo beautiful and such blessings to us! You would think the newness, wonder an awe of a newborn would wear off after you have had a few of them- but it doesn't. It really, truly doesn't! I just can't get enough of their little faces and hands and feet and just everything about them! They are heavenly! My only wish is that I had more time to just sit and hold and snuggle and love on them! But I don't, so I try to make the most of every second I do have with each one of them. That goes for all of my many small children!

Puddin is such a delight these days- she is funny and witty and such a "little momma" to the monkeys! She tickles me every time I hear her refer to one of them as "mister". Usually in this way... "You better not, mister!" Apparently, she has heard that phrase a time or two! She loves her babies and always wants to take care of them. Her newest interests this week include helping me make dinner and drawing pictures of people. And- she is really good at both! I may have a little genius on my hands!

The Monkeys are just that, monkeys! they LOVE to make me laugh... and they are pretty good at it! The way they work together for good and not so good (only sometimes) never ceases to amaze me! They are definitely a team but also such individuals! Monkey Do is fearless and dives head first into everything! He never meets a stranger and is full of kisses and zerberts and he ADORES his new babies!!! Oh my, how he loves them! in fact, they place a close second, right behind Barney the big purple dinosaur and there are not many things that rank that high for him!
Monkey See is my sweetheart... some things haven't changed. I have to admit- I was a bit worried as to how he would accept the babies but he has such a sweet spirit! Like with most things, he was a bit reserved at first and not sure about what was happening, he quickly fell in love! He is always at my side when I change their diapers or feed them. Always willing to throw away diapers or get me something for the babies. He is incredibly sweet to them and I just know he will be the one in the bassinet with them if I don't watch him carefully!

The Hubby is hanging in there too! He is tired, really tired. So we like to dream that we are millionaires and he is retiring so he can stay home and play with us all day! I think that dream is a long way off! We are just grateful his job is still there and we have some income coming in. We know things will settle down soon and we will get more sleep eventually! He is just working so hard these days. In fact, a few weeks ago during my "I'm extremely preganant and emotional and not really thinking straight phase" I encouraged him to sign up to go on a golf trip with some other men from our church. To his credit- he kept saying no, it would be too soon after the babies for him to leave. And I, again, not thinking straight, insisted he sign up and go. Well, he did and he is. What was I thinking?! Pray for me please! All kidding aside- I am so glad he is getting some time away for himself- he truly deserves it and things will be fine here. My plan includes lots of naps and very little cleaning up around the house! We have a full day planned for Saturday so the kiddos should sleep really good once we get home.

Anyway, life is good-no, Life is GREAT! We are doing really well and even though material things have been falling apart all around us we are still smiling! Our children are healthy and happy and it doesn't get any better than that!
Wherever you are tonight, I wish you sweet dreams and a full 8 hours!
Much love,
Melissa
